Thiruvananthapuram Citylights

Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Keral state is an ancient city with trading traditions dating 1000BC. It is rich in the arts and culture with the Swathi Thirunal College of Music in the city being one India's premier schools of Carnatic classical music. The Sree Chithra Art Gallery displays most of the works of the illustrious artist Raja Ravi Varma. The Padmanabha Swamy Temple and the fort surrounding it, the Napier Museum and Zoo, the VJT hall, Palayam Mosque and Church are among the prominent heritage buildings in the city. Then there are the Veli lake and Shankumugham beach which house various sculpture of the noted sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman.

Kanyakumari Experience

Kanyakumari is an ancient town that is at the southernmost tip of India. It is uniquely positioned at the confluence of three seas - the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea - and affords you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to view the sunrise and the sunset from the same beach. Places of interest here include Vivekananda's Rock, where the famous Indian spiritual philosopher used to meditate, Maruthuvazhmalai (the medicinal hill), and the 133ft high statue of poet saint Thiruvallur, among others.

Neyyar Exploration

Visit this scenic dam on the Neyyar River and retrace the steps of the legendary Keralite king Marthanda Varma who fled from his enemies on foot through these low hills, known as the Western Ghats. The Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, renamed as the Steve Irwin National Park, after the famous Australian crocodile expert, is home to several wildlife species such as the sloth, gaur, Nilgiri tahr, jungle cats, Nilgiri langur and more. There is also a Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Centre and a habitat for otters.

Thenmala Eco Sojourn

Thenmala is where India's first eco tourism project is located. The attractions here include the Thenmala dam built across the Kallada River, boating on the lake, a rope bridge, trekking, mountaineering, biking and a musical fountain. Nearby is the picturesque waterfall, Palaruvi, meaning 'stream of milk'. There is also a deer rehabilitation center here, where you can see deer roaming free in a natural forest setting. You can also peek into a traditional tree house used by forest dwellers.

Alleppy Backwater Cruise

The backwaters of Kerala are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km of waterways that are fed by 38 rivers. In the midst of this there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises. National Waterway No. 3 from Alleppy to Kottapuram, covers a distance of 205 km and runs almost parallel to the coast line of southern Kerala affording you a breathtaking panorama of some of the most spectacular natural scenery in India.
